Priest’s Report to Parish Council – April 2015

The main focus of March has been Lent and Easter, with the Easter Services well attended.

In April our focus turns to ANZAC, and the 100th Anniversary of the initial Gallipoli landing. We will be involved in a number of events:

  • April 19th Padre White Sunday including HC @ 6.00am, short ceremony at the top of Mt Clarence, and breakfast in the hall.
  • April 19th Chaplain @ Quaranup Remembrance Service @ 2.00pm
  • April 23rd Conduct ANZAC Service @ Clarence Estate @ 10.30am
  • April 24th  Conduct Kapyong Service in St John’s @ 2.00pm (Korea)
  • April 25th Chaplain @ Dawn Service @ 5.30am
  • April 25th Bishop Chaplain @ ANZAC Service in Peace Park @ 10.30am

Bishop Allan will be at both Services on Sunday 26th April.

Also in April, the Albany Church Leaders Fellowship, in conjunction with the Youth With A Mission Team, are conducting a two week program, involving meetings and services at a conference during one week, and delivering Bibles to every house in Albany during the other week. We have a region in which to deliver Bibles, and will need volunteers. It will culminate in the Churches Together Service @ the Baptist Church on Sunday 26th April @ 6.00pm.

We express our love and prayers to our Secretary, Colleen Brooks on the death of her husband Ken. May he rest in peace, and may Colleen and their family experience the love and strength on God.

I want to express our thanks to Alan & Joan Cotton, and Cliff Whittingstall for their unceasing efforts in counting the offertory so diligently for many years. Well done! The three wardens have now taken on this task with some assistance from a small team.
