Tuesdays at St John’s:

January Specials. Next Tuesday, Jan. 22nd from 12.30 to 1.15 p.m. we shall experience (a) Martin Luther’s German Mass of 1526 (in an English translation)  (b) hear what it is that the eternal son of God came to earth as Jesus to SHOW us (c) share Holy Communion together (d) pray for the Protestant churches of the world (e) receive with Luther’s order of Service, a copy of his pugnacious preface explaining why he had produced this service, and a summary of what he expected those who wanted to reform the church to be doing on Sundays and weekdays. As we enter in to Luther’s Communion order, we shall be able to compare it with the earlier Orthodox and Catholic forms of the Great Thanksgiving prayer.

4:00-4.45pm - Quiet Meditative Prayer for St John’s in the Lady Chapel.

THANK YOU to everyone who has been knitting and sewing for the MU Baby Bundles. Acrylic wool is best because it doesn’t shrink or cause allergies. For the Baby Wraps, 1 metre by 1 metre, please use cotton material for summer and warm material for winter. Anyone who has a pattern for toys please contact Tina (0447 134 327); we need small knitted or sewn toys, 12 – 14 cms. As we are seeking to provide Baby Bundles for all the new Mums in the hospital, this will be an ongoing job, so we really appreciate your work for the baby bundles. Thank you, Tina.
