Worshipping God and serving the people of Albany since 1848

Welcome

A warm welcome to all visitors and parishioners to the beautiful old Church of St John the Evangelist in the centre of Albany. The Church has great historical significance for Albany, as it was the first Anglican Church to be consecrated in Western Australia on 25 October 1848. It continues to be a vital hub for worship and community service.

St John’s Church is open for visitors on Fridays between 11.00 am and 2.00 pm. We also open on cruise ships days when possible. Our friendly Church Watch team will happily guide you through our beautiful Church. All welcome.
